SEBAC-Nepal organized two Province Level dialogue workshops on December 2023 in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces. The event served as a platform for robust information exchange and sharing of best practices and lesson learned on Anticipatory Actions.
The workshop included representatives from government sector including Mr. Bishwadip Basera (U. Secretary, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law), DRR focal person Mr. Laxmi Prasad Joshi, and other representatives from various ministries such as Ministry of Land Management, Agricultural & Cooperative; Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development; Ministry of Forests and Environment; Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers. The workshop was also attended by other DRR stakeholders from CDMC, LDMC, local government representatives including representatives from WFP Nepal.
SEBAC-Nepal, in partnership with World Food Programme (WFP), is implementing the “Forecast based Anticipatory Action” project in Kailali district of Sudurpaschim Province including Banke and Bardiya district of Lumbini province. The project targeted 16,452 households across 8 Palikas at-highest risk.
The primary focus is to foster effective collaboration between government and communities for the implementation of emergency preparedness and anticipatory action. This involves enhancing the capacity of local stakeholders and households-at-risk, ensuring their readiness towards anticipatory actions and swift responses to triggers.
