Nutrition, Health and Education

Overview: SEBAC-Nepal has been working to contribute in socio-economic empowerment, gender equity, with strong emphasis on improving health and nutrition outcomes. This includes key interventions in providing emergency health and nutrition support and organizing mobile health camps to reach the vulnerable populations. SEBAC-Nepal efforts have also been made in ensuring inclusive education through support for both formal and non-formal education.

The nutrition and health initiatives, including the establishment of Nutrition Corners, family planning kit distribution, home visits for nutrition counseling, and screening for malnutrition contribute to SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) Target 2.2, which aims to end malnutrition, and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) Targets 3.1 and 3.2, which focus on reducing maternal and child mortality. In education, interventions such as school enrollment campaigns, child club formations, and construction of school buildings align with SDG 4 (Quality Education) Targets 4.1 and 4.5, ensuring inclusive and equitable education. The financial literacy training, informal literacy classes for women and adolescent girls, and literacy campaigns contribute to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) Target 5.5 by promoting women’s empowerment and economic participation. Lastly, public awareness campaigns through local FM stations to encourage school enrollment align with SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) Target 10.2, ensuring equal opportunities for education.
