Overview:
SEBAC-Nepal has implemented a total of 14 projects in Nutrition, Health and Education themes and has achieved following achievements in the sector.
Key Quantitative Achievements in Education Sector:
- Conducted informal literacy classes to 775 illiterate women of remote villages
- Made literate to 1,200 adolescent girls through informal literacy classes.
- Conducted additional classes to 985 girls of up to grade 3 during non-school time.
- Educated 540 women and girls through REFLECT approach.
- 3 months’ literacy campaign for writing own’s names for 2,400 illiterate men and women.
- Constructed 24 school buildings in the remote areas for education facilities targeting to the poor children.
- Provided safe and clean drinking water to 34,200 students of 152 remote schools.
- Disseminated safe water, sanitation and hygiene behaviour change sessions to 34,200 students.
- Formed and mobilized 541 child clubs, 25 sanitation and hygiene clubs and oriented 250 child club members on nutrition, health and education
- Provided 18 months’ agriculture and health education classes to 42 poor youth of remote villages.
- Public awareness disseminated for three months to 360,000 people through local FMs to enroll girls and boys in the schools.
- Door to door campaign for awareness of communities to enroll their children to schools, resulting 2,300 children enrolled in schools
- Supported for enrolment of 75% of deprived out-of-school children
