Objective of Program
• To increase food availability in the areas in the lean season to continue to retain the nutritional status in the vulnerable communities through food aids creating jobs in the rural areas as food for work.
Program Output
• Provided technical assistance to DPSU/DDC creating local jobs for 2334 people.
• 494.964 MT of food was supported to 10,432 food-insecure households.
• 22 user committees formed for representing the 22 infrastructure created (10 irrigation canals, 1 irrigation pond, 9 rural roads, 1 micro-hydro project support and 2 trail roads) for their effective implementation.
• Implemented asset creation activities (livelihood, infrastructure, and agriculture-related)
• Provided distribution services for food and cash component
• Training and orientation for sustainability of the constructed schemes was conducted.
• Enhanced agricultural productivity through land development, construction of irrigation canals, water harvest tanks, plastic ponds, and application of water & energy efficient micro-irrigation technologies.
