Objective of Program
• To improve the health and well-being of the earthquake-affected population in targeted areas of Sindhupalchowk and Dolakha districts.

 

Program Output
• Constructed 172 and rehabilitated 28 drinking water supply schemes for earthquake-affected communities, 
• Connected households, schools, and local health institutions to piped water sources by building 1,947 public and private taps and 1,659 handwashing stations 
•  200 climate and disaster-resilient Water Safety Plans, and maintenance plans were developed for each scheme 
•  Training to 1,392 people in climate-resilient Water Safety Plans (WSP) was delivered
•  Registered 128 Water User and Sanitation Committees (WUSCs) and water sources with local-level government offices
• Water quality test was conducted in 1,362 points of 200 DWSS by involving WUSC members, VMWs, and technical staff of Rural Municipality and Municipality Offices.                                                                                                                                • Provided short-term employment at the community level by training 80 semi-skilled local laborers in masonry and 217 Village Maintenance Workers in the construction, repair & maintenance of water supply schemes.
