Objective of Program
• To strengthen the capacity and network of Public and Private Technical and Vocational Training Centres to provide demand base skills and training to the 5000 rural youths from Doti, Accham and Kailali district.
Program Output
Strengthening the capacity of Public and Private Technical and Vocational Training Centres
• 6 TVTCs were selected to identify capacity gap principally on management, services and infrastrutures
• A five-day ToT on Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) was provided to 16 (Achham: 4, Doti: 4 and Kailali: 8) Enterprise Development Facilitators (EDF) and 10 project staffs.
• 8 Job research centres were established to provide market related information to youths.
Public and Private Sector TVTCs have better access to information
A rural job information portal www.rojgari.com was launched in partnership with merojobs.com designed for skilled trainees, unemployed youths, employers and TVTCS.
Empowering rural youths building confidence, skills, and networks
• 16 Local Entrepreneurs Networks (LENs) were formed composing existing entrepreneurs, potential entrepreneurs and youth covering 200 members (126 men and 74 women).
• 92 Better Life Option Programme (BLOP) centres were supported for young girls and boys out of which 48 BLOP are for girls (Kailali:32, Doti:8, Achham:8).
• 388 youths started on farm and off farm enterprises.
Non state Actors design, develop and deliver appropriate market based services
• Conducted 4 Preliminary Market Mapping (PMM) workshop in Kailali-2, Doti-1 and Achham1 participated by 105 existing actors and stakeholders of the labour market.
• SIYB trainings conducted in 3 districts participating 538 youths out of which 275 started their own business.
Policy Advocacy towards Inclusive Pro-Poor Employment Service
• District Project Advisory Committee (DPAC) was formed in each district comprising the member from DDC, DADO, DLSO, CSIDB/O, DWCP and DFO offices.
• A total of 399 participants attended in 3 districts.
