Objective of Project
• To reduce poverty by 10% within 20 years supporting the sustainable plan by Nepal Government enhancing capacity and income generation opportunities for ultra-poor and disadvantaged communities through social mobilization and infrastructure development based on demand driven approach.

 

Project Output 
• 105 COs were formed that covered 3332 HHs and altogether 21257 participants were covered with CO formation: Multidisciplinary and multidimensional community organization (Cos) were formed at settlement level in the basis of one HH, one member. In total, member equal to the HHs. Among them 1393 were Dalit and 1939were others and considerably 3237 females and 95 male weremembers of COs.
• Capacity Building: Different training and exposure visit programmes were organized to enhance the capacity of CO members.
• CO network: A VDC level CO network was formed in targeted VDCs to synchronize the functions by sharing experiences and learning from each other.
• Income generation:  Different income generating interventions like farming, goat rearing, pig farming, poultry farming, vegetable farming, retail shops were run to upgrade each CO member in CO sub-projects.
• Saving mobilization: The entire CO generated an amount of NRs. 13, 81,941 /-out of which 84% was mobilized among the female participant members. About 77% of the amount was utilized for household purpose and rest for livestock and small retail stores.
• Revolving funds: COs created the revolving fund within the organization. The fund   produced by interest incurred through amount was lent to the CO members for their income generating activities and by principal loan amount repaid by the CO members against income generating activities.
• Created community Infrastructures on demand driven approach. Altogether 21 community infrastructure projects were forwarded to PAF through consultant. Among them 7 projects, 5 water supply schemes and 1 irrigation pond entitled in addition to this, 1 micro-hydro scheme was implemented.
