Objective of Program
• To trigger child clubs, principals, school teachers, School Management Committee, and Parents Teachers' Association and to create awareness for proper hygiene and sanitation behaviors, and to empower communities to construct and use improved sanitation facilities and achieve ODF status with proper consideration of gender and social inclusion.
Program Output
• A total of 26 out of 35 VDCs were declared as ODF districts through social mobilization.
• Out of the target 250 community schools, a total of 233 were reached where 250 child club members (7500) were oriented and trained for awareness raising and triggering using tools, they prepared plan of action, norms, rules and regulations related to sanitation were developed. The activity benefitted a total of 5000 school children and 750 school teachers directly and indirectly.
• A total of cent percent target of 35 Community Schools orientation program was held for HM, SMC/PTA, and V-WASH-CC at the VDC level to motivate & accelerate the process of sanitation from their respective levels.
• Out of the expected number of 250 community schools, the real existence of them was 223, where teachers training was conducted for 243 community teachers aims at integrating sanitation and hygiene with the existing monitoring and performance evaluation system of the school improvement program.
• A total of 785 FCHV and mother groups of 35 respective VDCs were oriented on sanitation training to actively participate and mobilize for promoting sanitation activities at the HH level.
• A total of 1500 people (HMs, SMC and PTA chairpersons, VDC secretary, V-WASH-CC and S-WASH-CC chairperson including RPs & SSs) benefitted from the total sanitation training.
