Objective of Program
• Support the very poor Dalit and disadvantaged households
• Introduce modern techniques of bee-keeping production and marketing management of honey and other bi-products
• Create income and employment opportunities at local level
• Demonstrate the bee-keeping community as a resource centre for those who wanted to adopt bee- keeping as an income generation activity
• Develop the resource centre for the production and distribution of bee-hives and bees.

 

Program Output
• Altogether 61 households were covered by the programme. 
• Seven of the ultra-poor households were provided with four bee-hives each and rest of the household were supported with two bee- hives each.
• The bee keepers were provided technical training and modern techniques of bee keeping and were networked with the DADO and other agencies of technical marketing support.
• Conducted beekeeping activities such as hive and bee procurement, honey extraction, queen rearing, preparation of guidelines and manuals
• By the end of the project the bee-keepers were able to earn Rs. 2500-4000 per bee-hive.
