Objective of Program
• Providing a prolonged assistance of food and cash to the food insecure households creating employment under food for productive community assets construction.

 

Program Output

Creation of Community Infrastructure 
• Construction of 123 small scale irrigation system constituting 30.5 km canals (16.70 km new and 13.80 km old).
• A total of 1,126.697 MT food (rice/lentil) assistance was provided to 7259 highly food insecure HH.
• Through cash and food assistance, 39 irrigation ponds, 13 Multiple Uses of Water Systems (MUS), 925 compost pits, and 1 rustic store were constructed as community productive assets.
• 15 drinking water supply systems, 7 rural foot trails, 2 community network buildings, 3 school buildings, and 2 wooden bridges were also constructed. 
• 8 water source were protected through plantation, land reclamation and improvements and 4 micro-hydro power under rural electrification were supported.
   Institutional Development
• Formed 100 Users committee in 6 VDCs constituting 414 women and 363 men members.
• All User Committee were actively working towards care and maintenance of the scheme enhancing their activities broadening the scope of the institution towards users of the scheme developed and the link to other stakeholders.

Agriculture and Livelihood 
• Six agro-forestry farms were established and 15 hectare of cultivation land improved as farm-forestry.
• 2 Jasmine Tea Nurseries were established along the buffer zone of Khaptad National Park.
• 1780 saplings of walnut and apple were distributed to 178 HHs.
• 12 leader farmers were developed as Commercial Agriculture Facilitator (ACF) and provided OJT on agriculture.
• 45 target participants received organic vegetable farming training.
• 705 target participants have received kitchen gardening and high value crop farming training.
• 600 target beneficiaries received improved seeds of different vegetables.
• 865 households have started their own kitchen garden with vegetable farm.
• 16 people in the area have started to produce vegetable commercially.

           

Skill Development
• Different skill based trainings were given Professional House wiring- 20 participants, Jasmine Tea processing and packaging- 12 participants, Mobile repairing- 11 participants and pickle making training- 18 participants. Implement asset creation activities (livelihood, infrastructure, and agriculture related)
